g1m
This project is at the state of concept, although it already running in my box. Heavily based on popdown, it borrows the popupmenu launcher, but provide the way of handling events. In fact, it's now a real program, which always run, and stands as a 1 pixel window in the top-left corner of the screen, providing actions on events. I'd like to make it a full replacement of my panels. Now, I don't know how, but it certainly will ...
Differences with popdown
- stay in memory, so popupmenu will be, a lot, quicker !
- no needs to use "brightside" or other things like this to be runned. G1M will handle this
- handle more things (volume control, ...)
g1m stand for "Gtk 1pixel Menu", "got one menu", ...
04/01/2008 update
In fact, I think this project will never be released (no time), but I use it all days, and it's a real part of my desktop. But it would be too complex to explain how and why all things works ... it's too geek to be released
